DCDC Kidney Care

Sodium

Sodium is found in many foods and is a common component of your regular or table salt. Although sodium has several functions for the proper functioning of the body, patients with kidney disease are advised to restrict excess sodium as their kidneys have become incapable to filter excess sodium. Sodium can lead to a rise in blood levels, shortness of breath, and swelling in the legs, hands, or face.
