Mental Wellbeing

The Problem:

We are currently living in the 21st century, and each day life is growing toward a better future but when the topic of mental health pops out, we are not ready to accept or talk about it. In today’s world, mental health is as important as physical health, and when you are on dialysis, taking good care of your mental well-being becomes vital.

The stress of taking multiple dialysis sessions, and medications, and deciding what to eat, all of that can gradually affect your ability to respond to stressful situations. With all that, it even creates an imbalance between your eating habits, sleep cycle, energy levels, and more.

It is normal to experience emotional ups and downs from time to time, but when those feelings become more frequent or serious, seeking professional help can help you cope and feel less overwhelmed.

The Solution:

While all kinds of physical problems are handled with the utmost care, DCDC ensures that your mental well-being is adequately taken care of. While there is always a solution to interact with your loved ones but consulting a therapist provides a much better solution.

DCDC has a panel of highly specialized professionals whom our patients can consult for receiving end-to-end solutions for both the patients and their caretakers for their emotional and mental well-being. This initiative will include one-to-one sessions and group interventions by trained psychologists on issues related to sleep, pain management, stress relief, and mental well-being. Our patients will also get online access to various resources to assist and understand their wellness journey.

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) – CBT is a psychotherapy treatment that focuses on changing negative thoughts that can worsen your emotional difficulties by challenging and replacing these thoughts with more realistic and positive ones. Through CBT, we plan to conduct one-on-one personal sessions or even group sessions through which our patients can open up, and in response to that our team can present ideas to help them cope.
  • Socio-economic issues resolved – We understand that dialysis can affect your day-to-day life resulting in disruption of your work or daily activities which can be mentally hard but DCDC has flexible dialysis options that enable our patients to maintain a balance in their day-to-day life and to continue their dialysis sessions on time.
  • Making dialysis memorable – Our team continuously engages in motivating our patients by ensuring them that adequate dialysis treatment with a proper renal diet is helpful and can help them feel much more energetic. At first, things can be hard to adapt to, and to ensure that our patients don’t feel left out, our team makes sure to celebrate our patient’s birthdays. On the occasion of World Kidney Day, we organize games and fun activities for our patients.
  • Friendly culture – DCDC works for the betterment of our patients therefore everything ranging from machines to the environment is organized keeping in mind our patients. We aim to provide a welcoming and friendly environment so that our patients feel at home and can avail their services with ease.

Self-help and self-healing are one of the best ways to counter any mental stress.
