Soya Pulao

Ingredients

  • 1 piece cinnamon (dalchini)
  • 2 piece cardamom (elaichi)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 and ½ cup basmati rice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 and ¼ cup water
  • Coriander and mint leaves
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 cup soya chunks
  • 1 cup curd
  • ¼ tsp haldi powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 small potato – cut into small pieces
  • 50 g peas
  • 1 small onion – sliced and crisp fried
  • ½ tsp ginger garlic paste

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Marinate soya chunks, potatoes, and peas with masala and curd. Fry onions until crisp and golden brown and add them too.

Step 2

In a pressure cooker, heat oil, and roast the spices. Add ginger garlic paste and fry. Add the prepared mixture and mix well. Add basmati rice soaked in for at least 20 minutes. Add salt, coriander, and mint leaves.

Step 3

Add water and close the cooker for three whistles on medium flame. Serve hot with raita.
